Sabbatical leave from RM

1. Do you keep your seniority when you come back?
2. Are you entitled to your annual leave aswell? Does taking the sabbatical mean you've used all holiday entitlement up?

You do get your annual leave but the entitlement will be reduced (eg, normally you get 30 days holiday - take six months on sabbatical and you'll get 15. The sabbatical does not count against holiday but it doesn't 'earn you holiday' either).

You should keep your seniority. However I'm not certain whether you get the sabbatical period accruing.

do you know how difficult the procedure is to be able to take this leave? How much advance notice do you need to give?

You keep your length of service, holiday entitlement but it doesnt get added when on sabbatical.
IE if you have 10 years 2 months service and go sabbitical for 3 months, a guy with 10 years service will become senior to u by the time u come back as he will be 10 years 3 months while you were "paused" on 10 years 2 months.

Not sure how this works but I believe you would probably be using up the holiday days accrued when you go. If you go 3 months and have 5 days leave left your first week off will be paid to use up ur annual leave.
Your holiday entitlement would continue from where u left off but with 0 days accrued. A new start gets x days per year. With your 10 year service you will continue to get x days (new start) + 10year service days. Think this might be an extra day or two.

You are also not guaranteed your current duty (if u have one) or even a job in the same office when returning. You will be guaranteed the same hours (unless rico changes that) but it can be at another office.

Probably best to phone HR about the nitty gritty details
