When a delivering to stores with one delivery point and store manager asks you to take mail to different departments...

Was already over an hour behind time, not in the greatest of moods, I got a recorded and see the manager just inside the door, I say hi I got a recorded can I get a signature please. He says “depends if it’s for me, you can take the opticians stuff down there at the back of the store and the pharmacy stuff over there as they are separate to us” in quite a rude way,
I had done that before but said no can’t do that as you only got one point of delivery. Was I right? He was quite confrontational and I didn’t really explain it very well and just took it all down to the opticians part where the recorded was for. Annoying how he made me out to be the difficult one but I was right though wasnt I? Got a feeling he may complain to manager as I wasn’t to polite to him.

He was probably right, we've got a local large Morrisons and within their store is Specsavers,timpsons and a photo printing shop who all have nothing to do with Morrisons they just rent space within the store so really you should have a delivery point and therefore time planned into your duty for each separate business, yes I know due to s**t RM management that won't happen but that's my opinion.

you are right 1 delivery point and just tell them you haven't got time to go all over the place and if they don't sign it write a slip left card out and give the clever f****r it , and bye.

Way I see it - are there seperate delivery points in the frame? - otherwise i see it as 1 delivery point. I have a cottage that had another small building built within the same grounds and have been asked by the residents to make seperate deliveries, as far as I am concerned, there is one address officially on the frame, therefore....

Supermarket asked us to start delivering to the back door of the store, wanted us to queue up in a narrow back lane with the other deliveries.....

(1) Got two caravan sites next to each other. One gets mail delivered to each "caravan" while other one gets delivered to one delivery point, a mail box on a wall. The "one mail box caravan" have asked to get the same treatment as the other one but they have been advised to speak to the council to get individual delivery points. Until that happens it goes in the box. Been years and nothing has happened.
(2) Got a complex that hosts a couple of different businesses. Delivery point is the receptionist. They used to take everything until one item went walkabout after it was signed for. Since then they do not accept signed for things but they'll still accept scanned parcels

We dont go hunting for the business. They have until the P739 is written to come down and collect it.
(3) We also used to deliver to the back of a biz where it was busy with forklifts etc. Now it all goes to the front receptionist who will take the mail but not any parcels for the business. She'll take parcels for people who work there but any business type parcel are RTS cos she wants us to take them to the back of the building.

Had this with a large freezer transport hub , wanted mail splitting into the different companies working out the depot ( all owned by the same company ) and handing to their individual transport managers. I pointed to the sign on the main door saying reception , and said 1 delivery point separating the mail is your job. This went on with reception moaning for a few days until the inevitable 'sign for' turned up and went in and asked for a signature , receptionist said that's department X you'll have to go over there now , so asked again and she said she'd not sign for it so I told her I'd kill it off as refused. She got shirty and wanted my name , office , managers name etc. Upshot was they phoned up and got told by the manager 1 delivery point separating the mail was their job.

A manager isnt going to say deliver to each dept cos that takes more time. More time to deliver the same amount of mail is going to affect their figures badly.

This is good to know, I`m delivering to a firm who wants me to go to each departament with their letters, it`s time consuming and annoying

I`ll tell them tomorrow they get just one delivery point, drop the mail and go
