1 hour reduction

Hi guys, anybody have any information on the 1 hour reduction supposedly happening in October? It's just over 6 weeks away yet in our office we've been told nothing about how our duty times will change or what we are meant to do with the mail we can't deliver once we have 1 hour less a week to deliver it in.

Royal mail are trying to block it. Negotiations with the union are ongoing

RM trying to say that move to the SWW was subject to efficiency savings which have not been achieved.

Is this Right? Thought the first two hours ( The one we received ) and the one we are due in October were part of a Pay agreement , which improved Pay, especially for part timers who work Sub 35 hours. If its not implemented then effectively Full timers have received a below agreed pay rise and Part timers have received Nothing! Would that be correct.

Nothing official but strong rumours in our office that they want to do a full Revision and take 10 rounds out. I am right in thinking though that no Revisions, Table top or otherwise should be entered into if the Next hour off isn't factored in ?

Taking 10 rounds out of your office is probably due to 'yellow dot' or PDA actuals showing not all duty hours being worked. This would be a separate issue to the SWW implementation as it currently stands. TP wants to change this situation so everything is worked out together to match work to duty time. I don't think RM is so keen on doing that though.

Royal Mail seemed to change tact from agreeing to the 1 hour reduction in the working week with the CWU to one of reducing the working week by 3% every year.

Either way, and I suspect its the PDA actuals/ Yellow dot data they will use ( lot of Runners in our office who just wont be told) last Saturday a lad in our office who couldnt get a Saturday off convinced his mate to do his duty and his own and he Only went 45 minutes over doing it. What makes it worse is One duty was a Town Duty and the other was a Rural 20 Minutes driving away. Its as good as Telling Management you can do another 6 loops for nowt in the same time ( Why will these people never listen )


Back to the subject though. Surely our Local Rep should not agree to any Absorbtion or Changes unless the Additonal hour to SWW is factored in????????????
Taking PDA data during the Summer Holidays doesnt give a true picture.
