Election Material - 3p not tied to inflation

It seems that the 2005 agreement regarding election material means that we have been getting less and less money year on year for doing the same work. It's 14 years old now. 3p in 2005 was worth 4.4p in 2018. Why are we standing for this? Why are we accepting all this chaos, unpaid overtime and other rubbish??

It's the same as door to door payments have those payments gone up to? Because you can bet RM have increased their cost to customers. wee except this because wee have a weak union!

The delivery Supplement rises every time we get a pay rise, although this is not payment for D2Ds

Wee used to get paid 1p an item for every door to door wee delivered then the wonderful cwu came along and with agreement with RM they agreed the £25.66 set payment you get now. Knowing that there was no way postmen/women would vote for such a bad deal they let all staff vote on it not just delivery staff.

It was a basic of 1.67p an item if I remember correctly, with a higher payment for larger items.

The delivery supplement goes up with each pay rise. It's not a payment for D2Ds

Unless my maths is wrong, you need to deliver over six 3p election leaflets per minute for any overtime you are doing at the mo, to make up for not being paid the standard overtime rate... Very few duties are going to have a setup where that is remotely possible.

The majority of my Election D2Ds last time out went in the blue bin. I just multiplied how many drops are on my frame by 3p and took the money and ran.

You get the delivery supplement when on the sick, annual leave and when you don’t have any d2ds overall you are better off than when you got paid per item

Delivery staff outnumber MC staff by 2:1 (probably by more back then) so it wouldn't have mattered how MC staff voted, it was voted in by delivery staff
