I read something online that said the notice period was 4 weeks. Is this the case while on probation? TIA

Old contracts it was 7 days , I think the new ones state 4 weeks. But to be honest what can RM do if you walk , can't see them rushing to the lawyers for breach of contract. Depends if you want to leave on good terms or just leg it.

My contract (2013) states;
Notice of Termination
13.2 If you wish to leave Royal Mail employment you must give one week's notice if weekly paid or one month's notice if monthly paid. Royal Mail may waive this notice either in whole or in part.
