Many in our office including myself just feel ripped off with these new annual leave print outs. The hours thing is a right con our office has longs and shorts if your same hours everyday they won't be a problem.they don't show a bank holiday up either if your day falls on a bh you get that back the old print outs where much better

your right it is a con especially with longs and shorts , you actually lose hours off your leave so how can this be right ? , when you book a week they factor what your day off is in that week and they end up taking more than 38hrs off your leave , and because they do it like this where I should have a 1 day left I don't anymore ive got 5 hrs - 15 mins oh so , so i have robbed of 1 hr - 50 mins off my leave , ive ask the area rep about this and never even got a reply . so all the f/t posties in our office will or have lost this time off there leave , so there not only not paying us for right for our holiday pay they are also taking more of us , who the f**k agreed to this

yes but the issue is if you do longs and shorts it doesn't work and you end up losing more off your leave .SpacePhoenix wrote:They not new, annual leave has been done in hours few a few years now, it's just your office has started doing it via PSP onlycomeracing wrote:Many in our office including myself just feel ripped off with these new annual leave print outs. You are not losing out. Leave is calculated in hours and minutes and not full days. If it were the way you were suggesting then people would just book the weeks which included their longest days/weeks and end up taking more than accrued. Which has happened in our office. The issue is you could end up with less than a short days worth of hours left with no way to take them. Cant really take a part day in deliveries. It's also a faff to have to work out your entire years rotation to figure out what weeks you can/cant take. If you're not on a fixed rotation then it's a stab in the dark I suppose.worktotime wrote:your right it is a con especially with longs and shorts , you actually lose hours off your leave so how can this be right ? , when you book a week they factor what your day off is in that week and they end up taking more than 38hrs off your leave , and because they do it like this where I should have a 1 day left I don't anymore ive got 5 hrs - 15 mins oh so , so i have robbed of 1 hr - 50 mins off my leave , ive ask the area rep about this and never even got a reply . so all the f/t posties in our office will or have lost this time off there leave , so there not only not paying us for right for our holiday pay they are also taking more of us , who the f**k agreed to this

i know its in hours and mins and are we all on a 38 hr week ? yes , so explain why it matters of what my day off on when im on leave , then they should take 38 hrs off my leave am I right or wrong , so please tell me why on my leave sheets they have taken me , 38-30 sat day off , 38-10 mon day off , 38-10 Monday off , 38-30 sat day off , 38-30 sat day off , so I have lost 1hr - 50mins off my leave hours , and I have 5hr - 46mins left on my leave and our shortest day is a 6hr - 50min.Ren Hoëk wrote:You are not losing out. No. Depending on your rest days you wont work 38 hours a week. You mention longs and shorts. Il assume you are on some sort of rotation? If so, one week you will work more hours than the next. For example. My rotation is over 4 weeks with long and short days.are we all on a 38 hr week
Week 1 - Monday off = 42:22 hours Total
Week 2 - Tuesday, Wednesday Off = 33:45 hours Total
Week 3 - Thursday off = 41:45hours Total
Week 4 - Friday, Saturday Off = 34:08 Total
152 hours over 4 weeks. Divide that by 4 = 38 Hours.
I purchase leave so have 228 hours to use. 13680 minutes. Excluding Bank Holidays
If I booked all my weeks as week 1 I would have 5 full weeks plus 16:15ish hours remaining.
If I booked all my weeks as week 2 I would have 6 full weeks plus 25:30ish hours remaining.
38-30 sat day off , 38-10 mon day off , 38-10 Monday off , 38-30 sat day off , 38-30 sat day off...
Im a little confused to what any of that means?
If you are on fixed days off every week then yes, You should be working 38 hours per week. Then if like me you had 228 hours to use that would be a simple 6 weeks off a year. Unless of course any of those weeks had BH in them then you would have extra hours to use. The same for if you canceled certain days during those weeks.

now due to holidays worked out in hrs
38-30 sat day off 30mins over 5 days
38-10 mon day off 10mins over 5 days
38-10 mon day off 10mins over 5 days
38-30 sat day off 30mins over 5 days
38-30 sat day off 30mins over 5 days
= 1hr 50 in extra holidays which is then taken away on any further odd days he has left
if you booked all weeks leave with a scheduled weds or thurs off you'll end up with extra hours owed to you
i wonder if they'll ever sort out reserves who may get 3 or 4 or even 5 tuesdays off in the 6wk average who are then working an hour or so for free without noticing it

thanks yes I get 26 days which is whatever in hours , yes we don't get tues , weds , as we do a 1 in 4 , so no matter what your day off is in that week of leave they will still take extra leave off you , but if you don't do longs and shorts and have the same start and finish time then it doesn't matter as it would be a day for a day with the same hours .world class male wrote:assume he means he's booked 5wks leave, 25 days in old money working on the 1 in 6 week rotaRen Hoëk wrote:are we all on a 38 hr week

Its hard to know what is going on with your leave unless you state what your rotation is and what the total hours of those weeks are. Start/finish times etc. But it seems as though you have booked leave which avoid wednesday and thursday as rest days. The longest days il assume and therefor the longest weeks. Which is no wonder you don't have the days off you thought you did.
If you have fixed days off every week then your 38 hours will be worked around those days. Thus it would just be day for a day. You wouldn't have to worry about hours but it would still be worked out that way.
Reserves and people on different days off depending on managements leisure are the ones that need to be extra careful they are not being screwed over.
You have to get out of this mentality. You do not get 26 days off. You have (x) amount of hours and minutes off. That will be determined by how many hours a year you work. For every hour you work you will accrue set amount of minutes etc Period. A 38 hour contract on a 1 in 4 will be averaged over 4 weeks. Long and short weeks. If you book all your short weeks you will end up with more full weeks off and long weeks less.thanks yes I get 26 days which is whatever in hours ,

this is what im saying it doesnt work with longs and shorts and because of this way of working you are losing hours and mins off your leave compared to not doing them as I still get 38 hours pay a week no matter what my day off is that week , so why should you give them 38hrs - 30mins when your on leave , its not rocket science is it ?Ren Hoëk wrote:Its hard to know what is going on with your leave unless you state what your rotation is and what the total hours of those weeks are.
