Considering change Job

Been offered job as a bt trainee engineer but don’t know what to do! I am full time postie. Anyone know what bt is like a employer? I am 37 years old & feel like its a good time for a change. Been a postman for 18 years.

Well let's face it, RM is only going to get worse and not any better. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

My old partner took the same job with BT and he was very happy with the swap.

I hear good things, sounds like a good job. You have to weigh up if it's right for you. Find out what it entails and if you can commit to going away for the training.

"Nothing ventured nothing gained", if you don't take this offer at the back of your mind when you have a crap day with RM what if. Lots of people now have second careers there is no job for life now. I myself am in a second career with RM, a choice which I do not regret. You never know if it doesn't work out you can always come back to the "Dark Side". Good luck with what ever you decide, you'll make it work.

stay were you our people think grass is greener and its not , no a few postman who left thinking it was a good move,now they wish they didn't leave

The guy is only 37 ! Delivering mail is NO picnic, times are changing fast and the future is bleak !
Everyone in delivery has seen the changes over the last 10 years or so and there is no future in delivery. RM cannot compete with its rivals, T&Cs being devalued all the time with a Union oblivious to the ongoing poor treatment of its members !
Nothing Rosy in the garden for the future. Get out now, life exists out with RM and you can gaurantee your efforts will be more appreciated. There are NO such poor, inapt useless managers out there than RM have, they are not tolerated and anyone with any outside previous work experience will confirm that, it is a simple fact.
No one believes how bad RM really are !

Answer questions online first then video interview, then assement centre in Yarnfield. First year it’s £20,750.completion of a successful first year this will increase to £25,394 plus a 10% on-target bonus leading to on target earnings (OTE) of £27,933

Be honest with yourself and estimate if you have enough manual dexterity and logical thinking to overcome problems before taking the job. Do you work on the car, do DiY jobs, or whatever? Although many don't like to admit it, but they have a mental block with even simple tools and tasks.
