Part time ...3 days a week

Hi I’ve heard in an office in My area two postman are part time and do a 3 day week.Is this likely true or does any one do this? One does Mon Tue Wed the other Thu Fri Sat on the same delivery.Sounds Very appealing

yes we have a couple of duties in our office where duty is shared by 2 part timers on 3 day weeks (21 hrs I think - most part timers at our office do full prep and delivery). the way it seems to work here is that they do thu/fri/sat one week then mon/tue/wed the next followed by a week off before starting over again (with the other postie doing the opposite). nice work if you can get it

A good chunk of our office is structured around 3 day weeks.

3 x 8hr days. You work Mon, Tue and Wed. Then you get Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon, Tue Wed all off. Then you work Thurs Fri Sat, Sunday off. Then start again.

The people that do it love it.

We have three duties that are four full days per week at our DO.

I work 3 days a week and cover 3 duties, we work 1 in 4. my permanent day off is always a Tuesday and Wednesday, with another day off either a Monday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday.

i do this scooby, thur fri sat mon tues wed 1 week off 23.18 hours per week . we at our choosing do docket i.e extra days or sas. both in fifties. its brill

im on 3 day 23.5 hours contract,,, basic pay £267.73 delivery supplement £15.56 tax paid £22.40 NIC £24.35 CWU £2.42 take home pay £236.54 if in pension would probably be around £10 less so about £226 ish.

This was my work pattern for a couple of years until the person I was sharing with retired, it was lovely when you had a week off and you effectively had a week and a half off. I would definitely recommend it if you can afford it, we had to go to a manger with our request, so your best bet is finding someone who wants to do the same and approaching your DOM.

If I could afford to do this and it was available it sounds utterly majestic!
