thought we would be hammered today considering it really the last monday (ex xmas eve) usually chaos
just a normal day really
in fact finished just before time
they really have killed off xmas

Was terrible in our office, virtually nobody finished on time given the looks of the docket sheet when I got back! It'll fall off tomorrow as usual, suspect Wednesday might be awful though. I'm hoping it'll steady by the end of the week.

Or have they just spread the amount of parcels we receive over a longer period starting earlier and peaking earlier?

From my experience today, if the bosses hadn't done something to help us, me and the partner would have been out until 5.
Walked in to two Yorks of parcels and received another two smaller Yorks of parcels later on.

3 hours 20 docket each on a paired walk to clear it today. LWT on pretty much every loop...

Had loads today ,went in on time .took my break ,cut off at 2.15 went home and spent time with the grandkids and family .

Far from easy! Looks like parcels might have eased off so they are now starting to send the Xmas cards through. Had loads of them today averaging about 4 to 6 for each house. They must have been pushing them to one side to concentrate on the parcels. Another 4 York's of diverted Xmas cards turned up as well so looks like they are going to be coming through for a while

I think this Christmas has so far been lighter than other recent ones.

Don't know if everyone is leaving their buying until the very last minute or if people really are having to reign in their spending as the latest figures from the high st retailers suggest (and ASOS today)

i had 8 trays of mail plus 5 packet bags and finished at 340 pm! 1 hour over my time so no it wasn’t an easy Monday!

We're still delivering Amazon in my office and the volumes are truly incredible. We're breaking off the IPS daily and leaving a York or two of cards and letters unsorted every day. Otherwise we would be so late leaving the office that overtime/delivery cut-offs would be much higher than they actually are....and plenty of mail is being left/brought back as it is. I went 50 minutes over today, plenty were still out when I went home. This has been going on since mid-November in my office.

This is easily the busiest Christmas I've seen in over 25 years of working for Royal Mail.

To all the lucky people who have had, or think this Christmas is light, YOU ARE NOT working in our area we have been absolutely shafted for the last two week. Thousands of cards and thousands of parcels. Average finishing time is 17.00 to 17.30. 2 to 3 hours overtime per person and Saturday was the worst day ever with the weather and volume of mail and parcels. Sorry not a good Christmas in our area.

+1 10 hrs overtime every week for last 2 months, and thats with assistance these last 3 weeks. Never seen a Christmas like it, cards are now through the roof. Fed up of it all now. Lol Just shows you though , it really does depend where your office is once again.

Was a little busy today but talking half an hour over really. Been some busy days with packets filling the van to capacity but wouldn't say its ben that bad a christmas to what i remember a few years back
