Can someone tell me how accurate the PDA's are? Can they monitor when you are stood still and when you are on the move?

Not 100% as it depends on the signal strength, no of satellites it's using to triangulate, local topography and building density among other factors. However, it does give them enough information for an educated guess.

I think, though I am by no means certain, that the breadcrumbs ap they use is not as accurate as the GPS is when you scan an item.

The safest advice to give on this matter is always assume the PDA knows exactly where you are and what you are doing.

The most inaccurate dimension to PDA use is whether managers have the time or can be bothered to actually view the information. Especially at busy times of the year. You can expect closer scrutiny of your behaviour when traffic is quiet.

No. They're really not as accurate as people make out. They're just android devices; anybody that has a Samsung smart phone has exactly the same tech via Google Maps. Take a look at 'my timeline' for the day and that's basically what your actuals look like.

Gps isn't as accurate as people make out generally. It's still run by the US Air force and us civvies only get access to the tech they were using about 30 years ago. Accuracy depends on device, but it's difficult to say as it's measured both virtically and horizontally but it could be out anything between 10 and 50 metres, apparently. Same as car sat navs, they are far less accurate than once thought.

The PDA pings about every seven seconds where it/you are.

The PDA can be used to disprove dishonest customers who say they have not received a parcel when you know you handed it to them.

I believe that they're about 4 or 5 versions behind of Android so the version of Android that they're using could well already be EOL and not supported at all

I would rather they were as accurate as possible so that RM can see EXACTLY how big and excessive some walks and duties have become. If you do the job, THE WAY RM WANT IT DONE, then most duties would have roads taking off them and/or more hours being put back into the offices. Just do the job properly, you have a start and finish time unless you want docket. No hassles, all round. Merry Christmas everyone
