Sick and triggering a stage 1

Hi, can anybody advise me on my situation? I’ve triggered a stage 1 review after having 14 days exactly sick. But on my last absence 2 weeks ago I went in the 1st day and managed to stay for over 2 hours before going to a and e, they have put the day I went down as sick, my question is this correct as if it isn’t I will have only had 13 days and wouldn’t triggered a stage 1 review. Thanks.

I believe that if you return to work the day after a part day absence then the part day is not counted, however if you are still sick on that second day then the first day will count as your first day sick.

"Part-day absences
A part-day absence is where an employee has worked for part of their duty and due to illness is unable to continue working. These absences will still be reviewed but will not usually count towards the formal attendance process. Where the number of part-day absences has become excessive or a pattern starts to emerge the manager should discuss it with the employee and advise them in writing that should this continue, future part-day absences may be counted towards the formal process."

As has been pointed out going home sick is not a part day absence if the absence continues.
A part day absence is exactly what it says on the tin an individual period of sick absence that lasts for part of a day.
