How long til OH involvement

I was off 7 weeks or so with a back injury that occurred at work. It was reported to Lino on the day. I knew nothing about reporting and he wasn't offering either.

During my time off I had no OH contact. On return to work I had a level 1 attendance review and it went through, despite it being injury at work. Funnily enough the Lino denied any knowledge of an injury.

Should OH have contacted me?

Can I dispute some how?

OH shouldn't approach you without your permission. Short answer is get your rep or area rep onto this, even though there is no appeal process until a stage 3 you can have your notes amended to include the fact your Lino is a self serving lying toad and will end up jigging on a rope like a badly strung puppet come the revolution. FTM.

Interestingly, whenever I made contact with the DOM I requested OH involvement. For some reason it never came. My injury is playing up again, Dr signed me off for this week, but I am worried about going to level 2 so quick.

I raised a grievance a couple of weeks ago,against DOMB & DOMBER as I don't even think they should have persued a level 1, amongst other things.

Was it reported as an accident at work? If so you got nothing to worry about.

Hi Pal,

Yes, I reported it at work, whilst on duty and then on return. The nature of the injury progressively worsened over 4/5 next days - I was off on leave 2 days, then off sunday then rota'd off Monday. I was signed off from GP on that Monday.

Yet Lino and DOM made no record of injury at work and deny all knowledge.

How many times on this chat has the advice given that at meetings with management you take a witness in with you.
The notes should show that you declared this at the time that you sustained an INJURY at work and an ERICA should have been completed and if there are any witnesses to the event.
You need to contact your H&S rep that your lino failed to complete the correct procedure on reporting of accidents.

Here's the problem. I was on a walk when the injury occurred. I asked a colleague who was in a van delivery to let the Lino know I'd hurt my back and was struggling and would not be able to complete. I know he was told this because he sent out a colleague to help.

When I got back, I informed the lino the HCT didn't feel quite right and i'd hurt my back on duty. I asked to fill in an accident book- he said he would sort it out. He obviously didn't.

The problem is the only people in the office when i get back are chummy with managers and I was too naive to think that a manager wouldn't do what they are required to do, and also I had no idea what ERICA even was at the time. This is the shite of being a PT reserve. We also had no unit rep at the time.

I take it that what you have stated has been placed in the notes of your attendance meeting.
Surely the colleague who was sent out to help can act as a witness on your behalf as the manager may move the goalposts by stating that assistance was sent to you as you were struggling to complete the delivery and had nothing to do with your back injury.
