FAILED MAIL.

We read a lot on RM CHAT about the amount of failures that seem to be happening these days and I was just wondering whether RM actually gave a toss or are the DOMS telling the AREA DELIVERY MANAGERS or are they telling the REGIONAL DELIVERY MANAGER of are they telling the DELIVERY DIRECTOR, the state of the postal service today, or are they all keeping their mouths shut indeed they don't get their bonuses. AREA MANAGERS and above get a 18% bonus which can stretch to 28% for personal stretch achievement. ( basically it means the more duties they collapse) and the more docket they can hold back. When I was at G20/23 office before I moved to GMC the office had to be cleared every day, but the boss new that it would be as it was a bit of price for everything that came for my walk was delivered that day. The other day I got a first class letter that had taken 3 days to get from the other side of Glasgow. The public ARE starting to notice also. So HOW BAD is your office now and should we let the public and parliament know of will RM just blame the poetics as usual and is it time for DOMs and above to go back to their basic wage.

There should be no bonuses. If they got theirs stopped I think most posties wouldn't mind foregoing £75 after tax at Christmas. Why do they need insentivising to do their job? Just get paid to do your job as best you can . Simple. By giving them such a big bonus for doing a good job, the top brass are giving them licence to do a bad job if the Dom isn't bothered about the bonus. It's nosensical and crazy!

i have to say it’s laughable bwhat goes on,or should I say what doesn’t go on,every office is accountable for a clear office policy on a daily report ,but am guessing that gets swept under the ever growing carpet in this company

Seems to be happening everywhere.Write to MP as a constituent.

CWU Branch (if doing their job properly

?) should already be having informal discussions with relevant politicians etc and flagging up services such as NHS correspondence not being provided in their area and streamed in favour of Amazon.

That’s because we are a business and parcels is where it’s at. During the Xmas rush, delivery targets are relaxed due to the volumes. Any how the biggest delay in hospital letters isn’t us, it the NHS themselves with all their constraints. It sometimes takes them two weeks or more to type up a letter and send it.

At what point does the backlog of failed letters get too much though? We are even failing a staggering amount of tracked, so presumably, RM is thinking bigger picture. Is the USO/ 6 day delivery to every UK address going to be under attack in the new year?

clear every day 2 night staff on 4 early sorters hour each (yes a hour ) two packet duties . red dot collection of a morning seems to be going ok for now . only time will tell soon

Told exactly the same last week and this week. Some zones went four days without letters. They pretend it’s being alternated - but it ain’t.

Since when are delivery targets relaxed for the USO? No such regulation,you resource accordingly.

And please spare me the 'we are a business' bullshit.Take away the USO and all you got is another dodgy parcel company operating on small margins.DSA was a EU directive and can be changed tomorrow.Other regulations can also be changed to sustain the USO but everybody and their uncle watch Dragons Den and think this is the natural order of things.

Yes tried it in our area last year.MPs etc were then informed -who forced the regulator to tell Royal Mail the mail must be prioritised and must not be streamed or failed in favour of parcel only delivery.

Worse this year and the same process of informing local MPs etc is being followed - though you have to wonder what the brainboxes at the Broadway have got to say about it.
