Lapsing all year now they want you to do OT for Christmas

Who's doing overtime and working there days off this year after getting shaffted all year round to get the management there 10% bonus and can't get annual leave days and special leave for hospital appointments and the managers f**k off at 10am on Saturday but want us to work to our time ...

It's a big fat NO from me cutting off every day

I agree with the reply above. And furthermore. . .will give my tuppence-worth on overtime over Christmas.

Historically posties (real posties who have a vocation for the job and who have built up relationships with their customers) have gone over and above the call of duty to ensure the festive mail gets delivered in the run-up to Christmas

It has always involved digging deep and getting stuck in...and for many dedicated types things will likely be the same this year?

I find the banter in the office is at it's best when the pressure is on over the Christmas period and a satisfied customer always brightens up a heavy day when out on the street ? I know it's hard graft right around the year now. . . but I'll be rolling my sleeves up.... and looking out the mistletoe

The fact that if you want an individual day off now dont even bother asking anymore coz the dim just says "pay someone" to cover you even though you have 10+ days still to book then they have the audacity to ask you to work over your time at xmas is laughable. For those people who say "I don't want to let my customers down" get a grip they are RM's customers not your own. You can be sacked in a heartbeat remember that

Christmas Pressure hours haven't been offered for the last couple of years in our office, it's just regular overtime on a rota if you want it

Been on the same walk for 2 years now (not signed for it nobody wants it lol) just found out I'm being take off it for Christmas. I've already turned down full time hours already on 35 and I won't be going 1 second over. Merry Christmas

theres a few rumbles of discontent in our office (again) a few guys have asked the CWU rep to give the DOM a list of people who don't want any overtime at all (me)

The management bonus is strongly linked to performance and certain measures which the business outside of your office can check to see how well the Unit is performing. They are not too bothered with budgets this time of year, its things like staff sickness and tracked figures or so I've been informed.

Management give us lapsing during the summer to take us up to our contracted hours, in my opinion they can't have it both ways by expecting me to work more than my contracted hours at heavier times. If they were of the mindset that one cancelled the other out I wouldn't have a problem, also the fact our pay rate decreases after a certain time, means I'll do whatever suits me.

Got the text message today asking if I want to work next week's day off. Well they can run and jump because I never know my day off until Friday afternoon at the earliest! Plenty of the usual early finishers can do it and it won't cost them a penny!
