im on a 25hr 5 day contract.

i never know what time i should be starting so unless im told otherwise i aim for 7:30, sometimes a lino will tell me im needed at 6 and i oblige.
when ive finished i go home as im normally partnered with a ft/32hr postie, or more often than not im pressurized into taking half a round extra and lapsing which i dont want to do but which i can normally complete in a 1hr 1/2.

most of the other people that do ot work this way and all the p/t that are partnered with a f/t finish at the f/t times.

ive had no complaints from management but cant help feeling a little dishonest and confused most of the time.

It took me a little while to understand as it was never explained. I'm on 27.5 contract but one of the first things I was asked was would I do 30hrs, yes no problem. So I was to start half an hour earlier than (so I thought) my contract time. No, doesn't work like that

I start 6 hrs before the finish time of the F/T hrs, nothing like my contract hours. You only need to start 5 hours before so if you know the finish times you can work out your start time, although this should really be made clear to you. Not even sure why they offer these contracts, they're pretty unworkable.
Anyway,it suits me fine so I'm not complaining. You need to find out if this is the same in your office and decide if you happy with it or not. You have every right to work your hours and say no to any extra work, you definitely shouldn't feel pressurized.

AS LONG AS YOU WANT TO WORK DOCKET, AND MAKE SURE YOU GET PAID FOR IT, MEAL RELIEF ALSO. AND REMEMBER ALSO THAT IT YOU ARE WORKING DOCKET THEN YOU ARE ENTITLED TO EXTRA TIME ON YOUR MEAL RELIEF. LET THEM AWAY WITH NOTHING AS THEY DON'T SEEM TO LET OPGS AWAY WITH ANYTHING THAT WILL AFFECT THEIR BONUS. TOSSERS.

Why dishonest?

You get asked to work overtime and you get paid for it. As long as you don't claim for time you haven't worked there is no dishonesty.

i sometimes complete quicker than i should, but i dont have any breaks so i guess it evens out. Ive started to feel low and unworthy of breathing through one thing or another so just didnt want the added worry of thinking im getting paid for stuff i shouldnt be.

Is it the job or life in general that’s making you feel unworthy of breathing? Whatever the reason you are worthy of that and so much more. Get some support and help to right whatever is making you feel this way, as well as some MH support. Keep talking to us here too. Also, I know I don’t know you but my inbox is always open. In fact sometimes it is easier to talk than a stranger.

thanks duckie, its life in general,i took a part time job so i could isolate my self from the world as i have a history of getting abused by work colleagues in former jobs, as such i dont have a social life or partner-even i dont approve of what my choice of partner would be. i just dont need the hassle of feeling im doing anything wrong at rm, so i fold when they ask for ot even tho i dont want it and just take whatever payment they give me.
