Asking for 8 weeks unpaid holiday

I was looking into a career move and would need 8 weeks to complete a course. Is it possible to ask for 8 weeks unpaid holiday or would it be dismissed out of hand by RM management.

If you were an employer, would you give your enployee 8 weeks unpaid leave to do a training course to change career?

It’s totally possible, you can take up to 24 months unpid leave in a career break.

Yes but the OPG isn't taking a career break is he and I believe the minimum allowed for a Sabatical is 6 months with the maximum time away from work being 2 years !

If your office is understaffed it is unlikely you'll be given 8 weeks unpaid Special Leave. If you are a poor postie and not great at the job you could always ask....the converse also applies... if you are a cracking operative you'll likely be met with a No?

Obviously i wouldn't be giving them that reason for taking time off, as your fight it would be met with a big no .

Umm yeah we are always understaffed as are most offices i would guess so will probably be little chance in getting it. Only other option would be to bite the bullet and leave and hope it pays off.
