Part Year Annual Leave

Morning everybody.
Is anyone able to give me the position on how much leave you can take in an uncompleted years service.
A friend of mine is leaving us after a decade and there is puzzlement about what he is entitled to leave wise.
I understand leave is from April to April, he has put his notice in to finish on July 20th, obviously he cannot
take all his weeks for that year, does anyone know how this works?

It is basically the same ratio as the amount of time he works for Royal Mail.

His entitlement is 4 weeks 3.5 days in he doesn't pay any POAL.

July is roughly a 1/4 of the way through the year.

So roughly he is entitled to 1 week and 1 day if no POAL and 1.5 weeks if 6-week POAL.

If he has had leave already then that will come from this year's entitlement, if he has taken more than he is entitled to it may affect his last pay packet.
