Stage 123 issues

Got put on stage 1 today, but if you have more time of sick with the same issue say severe back problems , will it automatically go to stage 2 or will it be counted as same issue and stay on stage 1 ? What I mean if it's an on going problem with the same issue it should not be counted as a separate sick stage

You raised this problem on the other forum " Back to work interview " and you mentioned that your DOM does not use OH Assist and he/she takes the responsibility for the rehab programme.
RM have downsized their connection with OH Assist and have set up HR Services to act as an interface but I doubt if any staff at HR Services have any medical knowledge and your DOM certainly hasn't unless he/she has been registered with the medical council for a GP practitioner.

I know of colleagues who have recently been referred to OH Assist so this is your DOM being awkward and making savings to his/her budget.
On the matter of continually going off with your back problem then this will incur further stages once the absence triggers another stage review and therefore I would demand a referral to OH Assist as physiotherapy may be required especially if your condition is related to your work. This could be covered by the Equality Act depending on the duration of your condition and could be discounted from calculation in the attendance procedure. That's why any decision should not be left to your DOM.
I would get your union rep involved area level if necessary and also your H&S rep.

I am just wondering if you could get your GP to write a letter to your DOM who is contradicting his professional opinion and making it abundantly clear that by ignoring his instructions he/she will be held responsible for any injury sustained by you having to comply with DOM decision.
