We are due a revision soon, we have a few postcode areas and although it's 1 office there is a different line manager for each postcode area and i've been told there will be restrictions on some people once the very senior people have picked will not been able to pick certain duties when their name comes next up on the seniority list once there are a number of FT staff already in that section,
this will basically mean a 15yr service full timer could not get a preferred duty ahead of a 1yr service part timer, this doesn't seem right to me,
can they split the codes to balance the hours in each section, after all, anyone can go do sorting in any section as happens now, and always has done,
our rep appears to have agreed this with the dom without consulting anyone, it could be the correct way for all i know.
