Calling in sick procedure

DOM says if we are calling in sick we have to phone his mobile & tell him directly. Only so that he can bully you & put pressure on staff to come in, or comeback to work before you are better. Can the delivery office landline not be phoned & the guy in the cage relay the message to the Dom that a member of staff called in sick? Is there a proper procedure in place?

Not sure about this but if my manager did this I’d ring him at 2am when I knew I wouldn’t be in and Leave a voicemail with all the information he wants

Yes.
It's a part of the attendance agreement called notifying absence and agreeing contact but it's not going to help because it basically says follow the local procedure....
