If you think it's the best deal and the best we could get from RM then fair enough but for trade unionists to pretend below inflation increases are pay rises then count me out.

I understand what you are trying to say, but as everybody spends their money differently its impossible to say how the inflation rate will affect peoples pay directly. The question at face value is impossible to answer, however, the message is easily understood.

I understand what you are trying to say, but as everybody spends their money differently its impossible to say how the inflation rate will affect peoples pay directly. The question at face value is impossible to answer, however, the message is easily understood.

2017/2018: Food 3.6%, Gas/Elec 8% (effects 66% of users), Council Tax 5% ( prediction for England), Clothes & Footwear 4% I could go on and yes 0.9% for Local Transport so unless you live on the back seat of a bus and dine on cat food then the overwhelming majority will find that the 5% won't go as far as before and on top of that you no longer will have a guaranteed wage in retirement and the NRA rises to 67.

Not suggesting that one union alone can reverse this trend of externalising all cost on the individual but for the leadership to indulge in shining up the deal including Pullinger (a man in the top 5% of earners in UK) opening each rep tour briefing with 'we need a reality check' then count me out and yeah I did get what he was trying to say but I'm not liking the way he said it.
