Lack of Manager

So our manager left just before New Years and we have now gone a whole week without a manager and our office is failing, whole walks being left, lots of people sick and moral at an all time low. Who should I contact to raise my concerns as our union rep seems to have taken on the role of manager! Even told me I wasn’t fast enough yesterday !!

That's my biggest surprise this year.

I thought "So our manager left just before New Years and we have now gone a whole week without a manager and our office is" was going to be followed by "running like clockwork for the first time ever".

It must be that your DOM's ability was wasted with Royal Mail and he has found more suitable employment elsewhere.

I would have very politely told the rep that my standards of work had nothing to do with his job as a union representative. Now fck off.

Well her parting gift was to have me train for half a day on the hardest rural in the office just in time for me to cover it for the next week!

With that manager gone, do you have a PIC there? If you don't it might be worth checking if your office is allowed to be open without a PIC

What does 'PIC' stand for ? Person in Charge ? No union rep or manager today or tomorrow but we are not stupid and are quite capable of delivering the walks without supervision to be honest.

Get Moya in to help I am sure she would love to got out delivering,it would justify her £1.9 million she was paid last year as reported in a paper,and for that sort of money she would be happy to do her absorbing as well!!

Well one of us Postie's is sort of in charge but I think he will be going out on delivery as well so the callers office might be closed as well. Its skeleton crew time.

Don't think that counts, afaik the PIC has to do a at least 1 training course before they're allowed to be a PIC.
