Very interesting timing, on the day the strike ballot is announced. Never seen a job vacancy like this advertised previously.

Is this RM just trying to be provocative and/or trying to intimidate the workforce?

royal mail does same day deliveries and collections via a separate wing using vans just like a normal courier company.

Its nothing new, controlled by RM Relay - the guys who deliver the blue gas totes to DO's and collect from Banks amongst other things! The sameday courier service is solely operated by self employed guys.

In an ideal world its not ok, just like the PFWW owner drivers. The sameday guys often only work every now and then, they are not taking jobs from us. They are only used when a booking for sameday is made. Most of them sub contract to other carriers eg TNT etc, as well. They are free to pick and choose what jobs they pick up from RM sameday.
Just to clarify the guys and girls you see delivering gas totes etc to DO's are OPG graded employed directly by RM.
