Very interesting. Since privatisation ZERO money has been invested from the private sector. This £1.5bn of investment has come from RM profits.
I applaud RM for re-investing heavily but don't fob us off with struggling for profit. When the changes are done, where is the next £1.5bn going to go?

£1½ billion, or £½ billion a year, sounds like a lot of money but it's not much out of £10 billion annual revenues.

The messages on my PDA remind me of my favourite programme as a child .............JACKANORYSpedley wrote: Very interesting. Since privatisation ZERO money has been invested from the private sector. This £1.5bn of investment has come from RM profits.

Yeah - the PDA's were reputedly a grand apiece. Great investment that
- when a £75 smartphone would have done the job as well.
Hey - RMG big shareholders didn't have interests in the company that got the contract for the PDA's did they ??

they keep saying there are no winners in strikes as well. garbage. if we had never been on strike over the years and accepted their crap, we would now be on minimum wage. or maybe the 'living wage' at best. instead of the £10 odd an hour we are on now. that's winning in my book.!!

I'm not sure of Royal Mail's business model - "don't let customers go elsewhere or they'll find out how crap we are"
Also, I don't knpw if they are just having a laugh or really are worried about strikes. Gives us an excellent negotiating position if it really means that much to them.

Well covering somebody's pension housing cost's and probably a taxi to easyjet once a week would eat a fair chunk of that as for the PDA's have they benefited us or are they a tool of the management top down system!Spedley wrote: Very interesting.
