its all THEIR agenda regarding why we shouldn't go on strike, how great a company they are to work for, best pay, best conditions, most are permanently employed, no fight to pick, etc...i.e. propaganda.

The video I watched today portrayed more panic than statement of intent by RM, it seems all they are interested in is keeping that share price up !

It's how I'd imagine North Korean tv to be.

A few years ago they would benchmark us against other top companies like M&S, John Lewis group etc...

Now they are talking us down and browbeating us to believe that were are overpaid and under-worked compared to our new rivals Yodel, UK mail and the likes.

It seems that they want us to believe that we are useless, unskilled and unwanted by any other employer and that we should be eternally grateful to have anything like the conditions that we enjoy just now.

So for that reason I do believe that the management do talk down to us / talk us down.

Some talking head idiot telling us how grateful we should be for RM to employ us. I doubt that any of them have delivered a single mail item in their life!

Courier jobs aren't the same as ours FFS!! They don't have to potentially visit every house on their round. They don't have to prepare several hundred d2d items every morning before doing the post.

Patronising is an under statement. Pathetic is nearer the mark.
Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.

Don't you just love watching some corporate suit speaking down to us like we should all be grateful for our employment with RM

I'll be honest when I posted this poll I'd thought the third choice would be the most popular, but not by this margin.

I find it very condescending, even more so since they started using RMTV to show an extremely bias view of the negotiations going on with the CWU executive in recent weeks, rather than use RMTV for training purposes.

They want us to believe that Royal Mail is fighting for its very survival and cannot afford to pay us OPGs an honest day's pay for an honest day's work, despite...
Spending a fortune on a vehicle fleet (not really suitable for short start/stop journeys like P'n'L) and its ongoing costs
Spending a fortune on new PDAs that are a nightmare in the rain, beep with the same tone when they fail to scan a barcode correctly and more recently can accidentally go back to the root menu while in delivery mode (meaning a scan could fail to be logged if it goes back to the root menu before you get chance to confirm)
Spending a fortune on World Class Mail, trying to re-invent the wheel
Paying off World Class Mail staff with nice redundancy deals, while trying to tell the world they reduced managerial overheads
Nice salary/bonus deals for higher management
Taking on more lucrative D2D contracts, while taking away D2D Supplement for OPGs
In many cases taking on part-timers that are given a workload that needs overtime to complete, but then not giving these OPGs holiday or sick pay that takes account of this overtime
etc.

Also:

Taking on staff (71) on a six month contract, in November 2016, only to reduce this to a one month rolling contract since May.

Not replacing hours "lost" (200+ on early shift alone) during the same time period.

Not reviewing the hours of those part-timers who wish to increase their hours by utilising the "lost" hours of staff who have transferred, resigned, e.t.c.

Continually using agency staff above the intended short term, no more than 12 weeks, contrary to the agenda for growth & National joint statement to reduce agency & casual staff.
