6 hour delivery

Hi there's a 6 hour delivery in my office far too big and impossible to finish the dims are trying to force the poor bloke to get out the office really early so he can do it every day any way of stopping this?
No it's not a 4 day week duty, supposed to be the usual amount of indoor and outdoor work cheers

So when he gets out on time but has to cut off the dim decides to bully him into working faster and others to help him get out earlier it's ridiculous

Speak to a union rep. Does he start on time, takes breaks, use methods etc.?

He does do everything to the letter on the indoor work but even when getting out on time ie earlier than 318 states he still gets hassled daily

From experience, the only way they'll even test the walk is if they are cutting off every day. You would think the fact they are trying to get postie out 30/40 minutes earlier would tell them something. But they really are that dim.

One in our office but because the regular lad on it doesn't moan & just gets on with it they leave it the same, the only problem they have is when he's not there nobody will touch it, it has to be broken down & then done on overtime

Was wondering about something similar to this recently.

If your walk is too big, could a manager put you on your frame early, to get you out the door early, thus giving you extra time to deliver?

Yes. We have been told that the new method, is to adjust IPS etc so as to make rounds achievable. My duty has had new estates just bunged on, with no planning, and hence take more time to deliver, and so I have had indoor work taken off me to, in theory, get me out delivering earlier. It doesn't often work out this way, and the delivery itself is becoming increasingly draining (6.5 hours currently, with more houses being built)

I would bring this to the attention of your local/area H&S representative to have this particular walk investigated as it is the ONLY one of this duration in your unit. This should be tested in relation to the amount of addressees, different types of terrain to be encountered, different gradients, high rise buildings, meal reliefs, weather changes and equipment being used.

A SIX hour outdoor delivery is a serious threat to a post persons well being.

This needs to be challenged with utmost urgency.

Please speak to your CWU rep first thing tomorrow.

Unless my contracted hrs are increased at least I won't be doing a 6hr delivery as my day is 5hrs 30
