Can someone clarify please. I am on a 30 hour contract, but for the last 6 months have been working 39 hours each week. Am I entitled to have my contract increased to 39 hours? I have also been on the wally week (1 in 6 weeks off), and only get paid 30 hours for the week off.
Thanks

No you are not entitled to have your contract increased.
There should be a meeting between the rep and DOM to discuss whether the office needs more hours and they would be allocated on seniority if it was decided that the hours were needed and the increase sustainable.
Unfortunately the law as it stands means you are only paid your contracted hours while on holiday unless your overtime id Scheduled Attendance.
This is being tested in the courts and apparently RM and the CWU are in discussions but as it stands you will only get your contracted hours.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

What would you rather 20 hours and no OT? Even if your office was revised you wouldn't get a FT duty anyway as you probably wouldn't have the seniority.koolishy67 wrote:On 20 hours contract working 40+ hours from last 1 year

2.7.7 The level of part time Employees’ contracted hours will be reviewed by the Employer and the CWU locally on a six monthly basis. Where appropriate, increased contracted hours will be offered to reflect the hours actually worked and planned. - Taken from the CWU Agenda for growth document.clashcityrocker wrote:No you are not entitled to have your contract increased.

Can someone from the Union please clarify whether this is correct? If so, why is this not happening?
