Great to see the in house bitching ,doing the round properly,going slow,safely and securely,is alive and well here,and wonder why we are in a mess with duties etc??? All very sad and a slippery slope my friends,not sure what the answer is,we are all different,have different views ,different ways of working,what's right and wrong?? Bored with the lot of it to be honest,no doubt some sarcy nasty remarks will be aimed at this ,oh well......mmmmmm

Divide and rule is the order of the day. Everyone needs to stick together, slow down and do the job properly. Will it ever happen? RM will just make the rounds bigger and bigger with more lapsing that eventually it will get to a point where even the runners aren't able to make any more time. Only then they will realise the error of their ways, but it will be too late.

I am the dick that has stood in numerous picket lines, undertaken many a voice in every union movement
that has given & protected many of what you guys think are a god given right.
But anyway..
The right of the guy you call the snail is the correct way to do the job under the H&S executive.

Some of the workforce ... mainly Junior think that guys with any reasonably attitude to doing the job as per ROYAL MAIL's own SSOW are snails or something far more sinister.

It's one of the most pathetic sights in a DO, grown men (mostly ) bragging about how "fast" they are and whining about how slow other people are. The kind of behaviour you're supposed to grow out of around the time your bollocks drop.

Insecure socially disfunctional muppets often still living with their mother at 45, Royal Mail seems to attract more than its fair share of them..

Excellent response Celtic Postman, no criticism from me.
It us a pity, but it's true many of any critics make of you will come from the younger, fitter guys.
Before I started work for RM, the industry I worked in prided itself on younger fitter men helping the older guys.
There was respect for what they had given in past to better our conditions. They were not gifted.
Fast forward a few years, our new generation of super posties are culpable. Who will fight for full time work for them n future - you and I would, I assume - but the Thatcherite generation.
Many people in delivery cannot see the wood for the trees.
A pat on the back, a bit off O/T thrown their way and they seem to be happy.
Age does catch up on everyone, even younger fitter colleagues.
Unfortunately, time with RM is short, full time work is going, zero hour contracts on the horizon.
Being a snail is not proof of simply being lazy. Let them say the same in 25 to 35 years time, on reflection- too late- they will see the errors of their ways

Postie A completes on a given day, doing the job properly, well done. No O/T claimed, good guy

Next day DOM, says yesterday you finished with xyz workload, so today you can do exactly the same !

Posties B finishes on time next day !

Horses for courses. You are, like all managers ASSUMING a bit too much. Nothing is alike on day to day delivery, duty to duty and you well know it. If over, you get paid simple, it's not your call - your opinion is irrelevant.
