Colleagues been in today to do some overtime. Turned up and told there wasn't any for him. He's had to drive in and drive home. Is there any overtime he can claim? I remember someone saying you can claim 2 hours for attending? Thanks

Ain't that just typical of how Royal Mail is at this time, he or she will learn & when there desperate for them to do overtime, which they will, they can tell them to stick it, what goes around comes around, as for being paid 2 hours because they where asked in I thing that finished many years ago.

Company is a joke. Last week we had walks on overtime whilst staff turned up and told there no walk for them and they are spare!

The company are cost-cutting by any means necessary. From trying to increase staff workloads on the work plan (because there are more part-timers coming in at 9am) to lapsing even more duties. There is no let-up.
A lot of us really don't want to work any more overtime but the company almost seems to be force-feeding us more and more work regardless; and then expecting us to do it for diddly squat. Its a recipe for disaster as all it does is increases fatigue and stress levels and leads to sick/staff absence.
Particularly, when there are staff that they could have called on to come in and work overtime, and they have elected not to do so, in order to save the pennies. At least, thats why we got managers for as they have been doing our work for us every single day.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
