The survey is your opportunity to give your views on what it is like to work for Royal Mail Group. Last year 84% of employees took part.

The Employee Survey is run by independent research company Ipsos MORI, and all responses are completely confidential.

We want to know what’s important to everyone so we can focus on the right areas and make improvements. We take your feedback seriously and have been acting on this feedback in a number of ways at local and national level.

Big Conversation

Since last year’s Employee Survey, more than 70,000 colleagues from across our Letters and Network division took part in the Big Conversation, where they shared their ideas on how to make Royal Mail a better place to work.

A number of colleagues presented their ideas to the Operations Leadership Forum, with several being taken forward for implementation. These include:
  • Live travel information available to drivers in their cabs
    Shirts designed specifically for women
On-site facilities improved at 10 units, with 15 more scheduled for 2017/18
Better guidance on how to access our online learning system, Success Factors
Development of a myroyalmail app for colleagues
Look out for more information in the coming weeks.

POSTMAN EDIT:Email below from justsayit which covers the questions we get every year
justsayit email wrote:Completion of the survey is not mandatory although we would highly encourage all employees to take the opportunity to give their view.

As this is a work-related survey, employees have been allocated time at work (during their WTLL) to complete the survey, rather than expecting employees to fill in their survey at home in their own time. This process of completing the surveys at work is standard practice in many companies.

Each survey should have been given out in an envelope as part of a pack. Each pack contained the survey itself and a pre-paid envelope with Ipsos MORI’s address for returning the survey once completed. Ipsos MORI is an independent research company conducting the survey on RMG’s behalf.

All employees can be confident that their answers will be treated in complete confidence. Ipsos MORI promises that surveys will never be linked to an individual. Ipsos MORI is a member of the Market Research Society. As a member, they are bound by its Code of Conduct not to identify individual respondents’ views.

Surveys should not have been handed back to managers without being sealed in the pre-paid/pre-addressed envelope. Managers should collect the sealed packs and return them in bulk via recorded delivery to Ipsos MORI (ideally using the bags that they arrived in). If employees specifically wish to, they can take the survey home and complete it and then return it in the post in the pre-paid and pre-addressed envelope direct to Ipsos MORI.

We ask people to take part in the survey so that they can share their views in a fair and consistent way, we also give people the opportunity to do this in a confidential environment. The survey gives people the chance to say what they want without being concerned about people finding out what they individually said. Also, only by surveying everyone in RMG will we get an overall view of what people think and be able to respond to that at a corporate level.

I hope I have provided some reassurance but please let me know if I can help further.

Kind regards

Jane

It's not compulsory. Probably best just to leave it blank and seal it in the envelope and hand back to manager. It's all a load of bollocks anyhow.

'This process of completing the surveys at work is standard practice in many companies'.

I like this statement. The real reason of course is the DOM likes to watch people filling it in and making sure they are handed in.
I think I'd say that I'll take it home and fill it in in my own time as I have LOTS to say. And then of course find the nearest bin after work!

Strikes are due about Feb/March, a conspiracy theorist would think they want these surveys completed before the dates are announced.....

It could well be worse.

Last years survey results were put up 9 months late... Because ( as one Lino told me ' they are terrible and we did not want to put them up')

Of course ; nothing has been addressed and nothing has changed.

I REALLY would like to believe that this survey would do some good, and someone's obviously put a lot of thought in to try and convince skeptical bastards (Like me :Very Happy ) that the results are confidential. :thumbup

However we all know it's an exercise in Bullshit! I believe they really could improve the company if they paid attention to the results, but I'm sure there were bigger problems than women's shirts and a bloody app? :hmmmm It's just a case of what you're going to do with it. I think I'll go along with the option B: Take it home to fill it in... and then bin it! :cuppa
