Way forward agreement and implications....

So, when does our current way forward deal expire exactly? How long will it take to consult/discuss?? Are they already talking about it now the union/Royal Mail....turbulent times ahead!! Strikes imminent then coz they ain't gunna come to the table with a glitzy offer straight away I assume??? If at all....thoughts??

Over the last 20 years, I have been on something like 5 lengthy strikes.
Can you tell me what we won? I sure as hell, can't.
The job is something like 5 times worse than it was 20 years ago.
Coincidence? I think not.
We go on strike again, give the CWU our every backing, and going by the CWU track record, we will end up just walking back into a job made infinitely worse by CWU capitulation, and their beloved 'agreed change' bullshit.

actually the whole office is waiting on the outcome of a few internal issues and the way union act and handle it then en mass resignation from cwu
and yes we are the union but when area and regional officers dont pursue our concerns and problems and esculate issues
what is the point of paying into nothing

without the Union we would would be shafted dry, if you're not happy with the Union, why not go for Rep and change it from the inside.

do you think youd be on the pay we`re at without the CWU ? granted the workload is "increased" but only have to work your hours....

just one instance why people are dropping out the use of trolleys mandatory all you get even with the rep going in to back you up is grief everyday do not say things to make our job easier when we cant get dave ward to hammer it home to royal mail

Worked so many places there is no union trust me absolutely horrible min wage, unpaid break, 0 hours contract, unpaid holiday, no sick pay.

The job isn't as good as it used to be. But without doubt no union and we would be a lot worse off in my opinion

A union is only as good as it's members at the end of the day! If members come in 1 hour early they make others look bad so it's down too the members or non members of said union but work for free and repent at your cost in your retirement!

I totally agree with all the pro-union sentiment. But I ask you again, when was the last time you went on strike and won improvements to terms and conditions?
It hasn't happened at all, not once, in the last two decades as far as I recall.
Does nobody remember what happened the last time?
The time before that?
And the time before that?
And.......Starting to see a pattern emerging now?
What will make this one any different, given you have the same gutless leadership at the CWU top table, as in the past?

Can you tell me when doing nothing has worked? We have good terms and conditions for now you can bet with no union we would have no sick pay and make no mistake that will be next on their agenda.

It's about time OUR UNION set the agenda but having said that those that are members should be more involved from the delivery offices in particular but most people don't have the time to go to meetings maybe some of this could be done online but not all. As for the Way Forward Agreement it has no end date but the last agreements protections were extended in last years pay deal which was for one year and everything will be up for discussion at this years pay deal.
