Managers doing OPG's work

I know this has been mentioned in the past, but our manager spends a couple of hours first thing in the morning throwing up uncovered walks. I thought that his/her role was to manage and support colleagues, not doing OPG's work and therefore depriving them of work/ overtime. While he/she are doing this, there are 'some' colleagues sitting on their frame waiting for the porter to bring their work to them. Is this managing; answers on a postcard.

Lino or dom? Either way, they aren't doing what they're paid for and if they can do opg work, begs the question why aren't they OPGs? Thought we were all about cutting costs now.

It's not unusual to find managers doing OPGs work at any office (of any type of office), anywhere in the country

Our managers are always working as OPGs. Its an everyday occurrence since last year now and its not unusual for me to spot them out delivering post whilst Im driving home.

They always do a bit this time of year when the temperature drops 1c and they have no change for the coffee machine.

Don't leave the rep to solely deal with it is my advice, support him.

Been going on for years. When 'Summer

Lapsing' was first introduced I used to come in at 9am to see my LM prepping the frame because the FTers were out lapsing the training walk

I may well still have in my locker from my time as union rep a letter sent out to all managers from there union unite.

It was informing them NOT to do opgs work due to the lower grade class, have they listened nope .

Fingers crossed I find it
