Hi, looking for some advice. I have a disability but have been working with no adjustments at a SPDO for a few years. Unfortunatly this was closed down earlier this year. The delivery was moved to the big main sorting office and stuff added to it. After trying to do the job for a couple of months my disability proved it was too much for me and have been off sick since.
OH assist said they should find me a similar job to the one I had but if no suitable position available ihr. So i've been offered ihr. I fell its unfair that through no fault of my own i'm losing my job.
My ihr offer is 34 weeks and 9 weeks pylon. No mention of pay for leave owed or shares. Does this come later?
Any advice appreciated

Pay for untaken acrued leave will be paid with last pay IIRC
Shares - you will be contacted by Equiniti who will details your options for disposal of the shares but you won't lose then and if you cash them in you won't pay tax or NI, and you will get all of the different SIPS that you are entitled to, you won't have to wait 3 or 5 years.
The Ill Health Retirement agreement can be read at http://www.glosamal.co.uk/Docs/Group_Il ... nt_200.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Just to reiterate what TBT said, I have just been through the process.flashajd wrote:Hi, looking for some advice. 1. OHA recommends to the manager by letter (usually after communication with your GP) and definitely yourself on the phone, that you are redeployed or IHR'd.
2. If they recommend IHR the manager invites you to discuss it if you disagree, if you don't (like me) then you'll literally be gone as soon as you sign the 'offer' form. If you do disagree you can appeal it in a meeting. If redeployment is recommended RM or the DOM have a duty to seek alternative work. If none is available (and sedentary/light jobs are like gold dust now) then they can force IHR on you as you are unfit to do the job you are employed to do.
3. Your offer is 33 weeks' pay plus 9+ weeks PILON (it's more than 9 weeks for long-timers) plus leave owing. All tax-free bar that weeks wages/leave.
4. As soon as you sign the form for IHR it will have a last day of employment stated on it, but if you're off sick anyway it's irrelevant. That Friday you get sick pay/wages plus AL owing. The following Friday you will get all your 34+9 weeks tax-free.
5. You will be asked to drop-in and hand uniform/ID back.
6. About 10 days after the Friday you receive the pay-off Equiniti will have written to you asking you to tick and sign a simple form to sell part, all or transfer your shares to you. It will state tax/NI-free. Tick and sign. I posted mine back last Thursday and today 7 days later received a statement for 701 shares sold at £5.20 = £3645.20 minus £18.36 fee = £3626.84 which has been transferred to my bank a/c that RM paid me into. Probably get it tomorrow.
7. You're FREE!!

Thank's "bustedflush" Lot's of postie's will be doing this sooner or later as the job is impossible for anyone for the long term as no one who starts now will make retirement age!
