I have used up my shoe allowance. they last about 8 weeks. my manager has been trying to get me some more since July 16th. he keeps getting turned down. what's my best course of action

Go into work in flip flops, you'll soon get some shoes then

Best thing to do is order online rather than ask your manager,go to the dimensions website it will tell you when ordering that you have used your allowance and all it needs is you're manager to authorise a new pair, he will get an email off them confirming your request, i go through two or three pairs of magnum shoes a year and have always got new ones when needed.

manager has authorised replacements. stated why. health and safety concerns. still gets refused

Management in either DOs, RDCs or MCs can't authorise any uniform no matter what the reason. The authorising gets done by a regional or national manager

Not doubting any of these comments. However doesn't it come across as Bloody Pathetic that a Business this size should be bickering about how many pairs of shoes it employees wear out?

They, or the suppliers, must have carried out some basic research about how long certain footwear last. At present the duty I cover is approx 6.5 miles, but there's some up to 11miles. We can all argue about how far we walk but a pair of worn out trainers proves the point. Are RM saying my particular trainers should last nearly 800 miles?

Im still waiting for my 5 new shirts, 3 trousers, 2 pairs of shorts, belt, anorak, benny hat, another hi-vis and of course another pair of shoes…..

And the only thing I got was the shoes goddamit!! Do they really expect their posties to keep their uniform in perfect condition that they had 5 years ago?

Im tempted to turn up for work like an extra in Shameless or should I say an agency worker (plus a hi-vis) bless them
