Parking at new Portsmouth/Cosham DO

The new office will have over 200 of us posties working there, but there can only be about 60 spaces for private cars. Local roads all have double yellows. Someone must have got their sums wrong and we have all been wondering what the solution was. Today we were told that we would have to apply for car park passes which were limited in number. First in line would be those that live furthest away or have disabilities under the equality act. No local public transport, other than a rail station 10 minutes walk away. Crazy

We have a similar situation in our office,but the management made a deal with a local superstore for x amount a year, so we get free parking and it is only a 10 min walk.

So if the nearest people live say a mile away, they will be expected to walk in in the morning, (wet through before you start)! and then have a lovely extra walk when they have finished? Nice.
Especially if you have your own parcels to post and grub and spare clothing etc to carry. I would say that is discrimination. Perhaps it should be worked out on who is the oldest, and most decrepit.
Or maybe managers should not have a parking space as they normally go home about 11am anyway.

We don't have, and never have had as far I know, a single parking space for staff (or management for that matter) at my unit which has 100 staff.

Do the managers stay late in your office then?

At my office we have no parking, we just swap car for van then back at end of day.
