Hello - I have not seen where this bulletin ends up and hope this is still a good place to post it? Anyway here goes:
THEY NEED TO GET THEIR PRIORITIES RIGHT!
So now the vote over the 1.6% pay rise is closed . The ballot papers were sent out almost 3 weeks ago, but the (useful) leaflet from the CWU (London Division) providing (some of) the information we need to know about this, was only given to us a week ago, after many had already voted...
INFLATION 1.4% AND RISING
Of course, we had nothing to lose by refusing 1.6% - because it is too little - and now with Brexit voted for, prices of many goods will rise. Either way the capitalists will use this vote as an excuse to squeeze more out of us! So fighting over pay would have made sense - as a dress rehearsal for the big fight needed over RM's latest plans for fundamental changes in the operation of everything!
A REAL FIGHT MUST BE ORGANISED
So, the question now is whether the CWU negotiators really are "parking Royal Mail's agenda" as they say in the leaflet - and whether they will initiate a real fight in our ranks against it. By decoupling pay from conditions, they claim this is their intention. Can we believe it? How do we hold them to their word?
NO MORE JOB CUTS!
Yes, because as they have explained, the One Wave is drastic! For Deliveries it's the virtual end of indoor work and limitless delivery spans, wearing a straitjacket packed full of mail! For Processing, new packet and letter machines will replace workers - we can expect more, huge, job cuts unless we refuse them and force RM to share out the work fairly, but without cutting pay! We don't object to machines doing boring work instead of us, What we do object to, is job cuts.
BUT AREN'T WE ALREADY IN HMP?
Also we're told that RM wants to end completely the final salary pension scheme by 2018. And they want to track us in the same way they track packets and letters, to extract the max profit out of the min workforce!! Finger prints and DNA next?
DON'T TRY POINTING A FINGER!
Even though the finger scans are now used everywhere in HMP, many of us still haven't had any training on how to use RM's new little toy. What do they want? Must we learn by "trial and error"? With more "error" than "trial"? OK. No problem!
WHERE ARE THE NEW FACES..?
We're waiting for the second round of signing up to the Processing fit-up, meant to start on the 30th. Not that RM has come to its senses or decided to recruit new workers for the far too many duties here. No, it's just the same vacancies with the same old hands… these "reshuffles" may allow us to move to a better job, but they never solve the fundamental problem!
...OUTSIDE?
Well, if RM can't provide the new faces we need inside, we can always go outside ourselves, to look for them...
EC CAN'T WAIT
Yes and it's the same (or much worse!) in EC where fit-ups and resigns end up just redistributing problems! We're short of walkers, sorters and drivers. This is too much! The night shift is being hacked to pieces. So what is to be done about it? Or are DUMs just waiting for their One Wave to sweep us all out of the premises, like a giant tsunami?
A TURN-UP FOR THE BOOKS
However, on Processing nights, it's a lot different since the Buzzy Bee is gone. In fact the fit-up (re-sign?) has suddenly taken a (slightly more) pleasant turn: without the B sticking his sting into certain positions, we don't mind signing for them!
BOO THE BUILDER
That said, we keep getting a fright - because this B-B just can't seem to keep away. He still keeps coming back. One or two of us nearly had a heart attack last week when he appeared yet again. A health warning should be sent in advance.
BOSSES FIT-UP?
We're still none the wiser over our situation in Romec. Some sort of merger is going on with top managers and we're invited to send the new top dog some emails. That should flood his system... and crash it?
APPLY THIS SIMPLE SOLUTION...
As for our cleaners' fit-up - it's giving us a fit. Why don't they just hire more workers? Applying a simple solution can do wonders! PS: what has happened to our bonus?

Re: the response from the CWU on the referendum result: yes too true, we need to fight (if that’s actually what they mean...), Brexit or not. But it’s a fight not for a "new government" like the old government, but for a new system!
The bosses are trying to roll back the clock - but bosses and workers, by definition, have opposing interests. So for starters, all "partnerships" should be thrown out of the window. Like the one between the CWU and RM...
THEY CAN SPARE LOTS MORE THAN A DIME
We see that RM has bought Spain's biggest express parcel network (10% of Spain's parcels' market) for £57m. It pushed RM shares up 4% to 527.7p... And they offer us a pay rise of just 1.6%?
