Just heard that Oxford delivery office is going for ballot for industrial action due to unfair sacking of staff. No further detail available for time being .

It has to be done to bring the negotiators in. It got some cases reviewed locally with some reinstatement.

Oxford posties - look at all of the press surrounding the David Mitchell Cupar (Fife, Scotland) postie sacking case.
Two years on since he was wrongly accused of theft, he won Reinstatement at ET and won the Reconsideration Hearing. Royal Mail won't reinstate - they technically are allowed to simply IGNORE the judge's ruling.
Cupar posties held two strikes in Dec 15 and Jan 16 and the CWU are balloting Branch 2 (c.2500 staff) for strike action now.
CWU quoting widely this is the worst injustice they have ever seen.
Dave worked for RM for 27 years, on his rural delivery for 17 years - customer campaigns still ongoing as they want Dave back. He had a clean conduct record. He is 57 ...?
The evidence RM claimed they had was torn to bits.

The company can decide to ignore the court but then they have to be prepared to pay out damages/compensation for unfair dismissal and deal with the bad publicity which this case has received

I believe that only around 5% of employees return to their old job after winning cases of unfair dismissal

How many more give up after being ground down by the process

As you say probably a lot. Not everybody has the stamina to stand up to the Company and fight for justice. Dave Mitchell is doing that, not only for himself, but for all his ex colleague's as well. It has been proved he did nothing wrong twice, but still, RM will not admit that their investigation was a shambles and they got it wrong. You all need to stand together and fight for your jobs and also for those who have already succumbed to RM's abhorrent treatment of it's employees.
