long service award

Got my 20 year award this week,recognising my hard work and dedication to the firm etc.Obviously I work for my wages and that's it,But if Royal mail is going to give out awards it should at least make an effort.A badge !! Maybe In another 20 years i'll qualify for a dog turd in a shopping bag

Apparently Royal Mail thought the small sums of money they used to "Award" were derisory............. so they though it better to just give you a badge! Like that makes a difference. I wonder what the Senior Management get in such a situation? Bet it's not a poxy badge?

Is this the same Business that pushes so much HR Bullshit, when it suits them, and yet treats Long Serving members of it's staff (who have built the success of Royal Mail) so shabbily?

18 months away from my 30 years of service , I can't wait to get another block of glass and a different colour pin badge .

You get £100 worth of vouchers (down from £150) plus a meal out with all your other awards buddies, so you can chat all about Royal Mail all evening. How nice!
£50 less in vouchers now because Royal Mail reckons us staff want a better slap up meal than the vouchers.

Most don't want a meal with the very people who make their lives hell on a daily basis just more cost saving's again!

Correct, and you also get some long service managers coming along. Oh joy!
