Purchase Of Annual Leave

Does this have to be re-applied for each year? Did it for the first time twelve months ago and paid about £9 per week out of my wages. Just got my holiday sheet for this year though and there's a blank space in the 'Purchased' box. Has someone made a mistake or am I just going to have to make do with my normal entitlement this year? The money is still being deducted from my wage (up until yesterday, at least). Thanks.

Somebody screwed up.
You're not alone, even the beautiful people have this happen to them, I just went into the office and shouted a bit, seemed to work, that was a good few years ago mind you.

Great stuff, thanks. Could have sworn when it was approved that the form said it was an ongoing thing until I request otherwise. I'll have a word in the morning. That's a relief!

It is ongoing however the purchased days are not released on PSP until the end of March ( usually) as people may have cancelled and the cut of for purchasing is the end of Feb

In our office the purchased leave is only added to leave sheet when it appears on PSP so it might not be on your leave sheet until then, as it has to be manually added and can change every year

Just to check, can extra annual leave only be purchased once everyone else has had their pick of entitlement?
The reason I ask is because there is a joker in our place looking to purchase a week to add onto his summer fortnight, even though others haven't been allocated their full spring/summer leave (up to 4 weeks in some cases)

No, it can only be purchased before the end of February.

How and when POAL is picked is entirely up to the local processes adopted by the local unit so it's difficult to say with any certainty that POAL is picked after all other leave.

In our office no difference is made between POAL and Annual leave it's all treated exactly the same. To be honest and its only my opinion but POAL is counted as Annual Leave, it's not recorded any differently, you can't use seniority as the main selection criteria and the agreements say everyone should have equal chance, So if its this "jokers" turn to pick in a fair system then yes, he can pick any spare week. Just remember this when he asks for a favour, at some point they all do.
