I'm convinced that the Have Your Say Survey is RM's way of gathering information on what they can do in the next year too further demoralise us.
Tell them we want more managers, see what happens.

You could ask them why so much money is spent on pointless surveys.
It goes something like this, ask enough questions and at least one score might have improved since last year even if it's completely irrelevant, promote this improvement as an increase in "employee engagement" and ignore everything else, repeat annually.

I forgot to add that next month's Courier will lead with something stupid like "Our employees say yes to paper towels: 51% of our "people" say Royal Mail's paper towels are adequate, an increase of 0.001% on last year which shows that staff are fully accepting of our new 10 hour deliveries and are willing to sacrifice their first born child to the cause".

They just need MORE DATA! They'll have some office wallahs inputting it and analysing it. Then produce power point briefings with loads of Flow diagrams and Pie charts.....just to prove 1) The Mail is actually dropping off & 2) You can actually do more deliveries in your allocated time!
Just another BS Exercise to justify the jobs of "Paper Shufflers" in some Office somewhere. I despair at the "Computerisation" of every aspect of modern life & business. It's great in it's place but it's where it meets the "Human Element" of any job that the crap starts!
We stuff bits of paper through peoples letterboxes...... it ain't rocket science! But these Dickheads will analysis it to death in order to try and save a few bob!

I'm quite looking forward to having my say, I know they don't read it, I know they take no notice of it but I walk out of the guardroom where we are forced to fill it in with a satisfied smile on my face.

Have your say is the new way forward is it not.
No one voted for the way forward, and no one ever puts anything nice in the have your say survey.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I dunno why they bother letting us have our say when it comes to job satisfaction, they need only to look in The Courier. Anyone can see that offices up and down the country are packed with happy, smiling workers!
