Contracted hours

Evening all! if someone could help clarify something for me I would be most thankful

I am currently on a part time, permanent contract at 25hrs per week. My working hours are 9-2pm and on saturdays 8-1pm as the whole office start earlier on the saturday.
Generally i work anywhere between 30-40hrs per week. As im asked to start earlier and walks tend to finish later than 2pm.

Ive had a change of circumstances which mean that on some days, i will not be able to work overtime. Now if I worked my contracted hours, this would mean cutting off. From what ive seen, managers do not like this, and i know that an employee was recently threatened with having her working hours changed if she wouldnt work past her tiime and complete her walk. Basically a later start time and finish time. (she is a part time reserve) Are managers able to do this? My situation means that on certain days i will need to finish my shift at 2pm, if they were to change my start/finish times then it cause me real problems.

yes, they can move your hours but they have to be careful, they cant change your hours because you wont extend and essentially replace you with someone else who will extend. You need to talk to your union rep about this.

Thanks, from what i see of things, contracted hours stand for nothing as every part timer is expected to work over their time on a daily basis. They just book the time after their supposed finish time. Its laughable, especially when you have full timers finishing well before their time, heading home and part timers being pressurised to work hours over.
