forth road bridge

just seen it on the news that its closed until the new year, and was wondering do many of our vans use it and what the impact will be regarding diversions. is there other bridges nearby? or is it a massive diversion that will add substantial time to our vans and lorries? anyone up there know?

It's about a 20 mile detour across the kincardine bridge, shouldn't really make much difference to most although there is a huge Amazon "fulfilment centre" just over the other side. They won't be happy.

We've already been asked to work 30 mins late tomo, I can see them trying to change our start/finishing time u til this is sorted.

change our start/finishing time they would have to change you contract to do that and all good will went out the window a very long time ago you have a start time and a finish time thats about it if the mail etc comes in late its not your problem

Hadn't really thought about that but surely that means every D.O. south of the bridge might see a higher influx of packets ?

It's meant to be a 30 mile detour plus a 2 hour delay at the moment and it's going to be a lot more nearer Christmas.

Worth adding Amazon have free transport for workers from Glasgow at the moment so presume they aren't exactly going to work with a 6 hour journey.

Never mind the Forth Road Bridge, a landslide has shut the West Coast Main Line's in Cumbria so no PRDC - Warrington - Glasgow mail trains and it's busy this time of year.
