Are we purposely failing?

Post by weary_posty »

I'll put this bluntly.

With management no longer interested in quality and happy for jobs to fail as long as the books look good.

Are Royal Mail purposely allowing this so they have an excuse to get rid of the USO?

The fines will be building up, that is of course if the failures are actually being reported.

Yes i believe they are purposely making the business fail, so then royal mail can say the USO is not sustainable, and ask government to remove the USO,

And when that happens its game over for all the posties, they will destroy delivery...

All doomed...

At one time the focus of the business alternated between quality and budget, now it always seems to be about budget

This is what privatisation does, quality goes out the window just so the lucky ones at the top of the chain can have even more wealth (as if they haven't got enough). :thumbdown

I am starting to wonder that myself last night you really couldn't make it up. They are not resourcing up for Autumn Pressure. The CWU has got to start asking questions

Interesting theory. The fact that Ofcom are constantly sticking their noses in and wanting our terms and conditions undermined is suspicious as well. They would be an easy smokescreen for Royal Mail to hide behind, and a good fallback for when the next round of negotiations start.

A guy in our office is off sick this week and his walk has not been touched for the last 3 days, its all piled on his frame.

I wish there was some way we could check what is or is not reported because I suspect that if the regulator and the public knew the truth there would be massive outcry and perhaps our bosses would have to face the music.

What is happening at the moment is the epitome of 'Willful Delay'

It's not exactly 'wilful delay' at our place. They're desperate for people to go out and deliver it but there just aren't the OPG bodies available, we're so massively understaffed. Sad times to see the cutbacks have such a direct effect on customer service quality.

Kind of good in my opinion that I don't see managers going out and doing our work tho, that always used to pee me off. Especially because they were so unbelievably rubbish at it too!

God knows what's happening at some of the offices mentioned here   There is hardly ever anything failed at our office apart from packets rolled at Christmas and the very occasional day where part of a walk might not go out (couple of times per year).

Tracked are still being pushed, they are NEVER left in the office, managers take out anything they can't cover, every single complaint is mentioned in the daily briefing (no walks singled out, just how many complaints we've had for the previous day/week and what they were for) and QOS targets and actual figures are up on the walls.

Plus everyone in the office except brand new starters has a permanent contract.
