I have a problem with my van at the moment.
The drivers door doesn't lock . It's been like this for weeks. Have told management for weeks about it , I just
get ' ok we'll sort it out' but still nothing has been done.

Our vans are parked in quite a public place , anyone can get to them.
If someone over night found it was unlocked and managed to start it up or did damage etc.... would that be
my fault or managements? I would bet blame would be on me

It will be your fault,so DO not take it out if it get stolen ect it's you for the high jump.

It will be your fault,so DO not take it out if it get stolen ect it's you for the high jump.

But the problem's not out on delivery, it's if "someone over night found it was unlocked".

Refuse to drive it as it has defects on it.

You know the defect and the security risk Refuse to go out in it from tomorrow at your start time.

fill out the log book desribing the faults, fill out the PMT 1 form. The vehicle is unsafe as the integrity of the mail is compromised, you cannot secure the omv.
Once you have put the vehicle off the road only the mechanic can put it back on the road. If you have concenrs about the roadworthiness of the vehicle you fill out the PMT1. The mechanic must stamp it as being fixed, your manager is not employed to maintain the fleet the mechanic is. Your arse is out the door if you have done the above and continue to use the van and stuff get stolen from it the van itself is stolen just because am manger said its ok to use. Trust me they will drop you from a great height as their job is on the line too.
