Swapping contracts?

Hello, I'm due to start next week as post person on a 20 hour a week contract.

But my partner has a 27 Hour a week contract currently, at a different office to which i'm starting. My question is, is there any way we could organise a swap of contracts, even if that means swapping office. Obviously it's early days, and not in a massive rush but would just like so advice and or if this available to be done. It's just my partner knows of people 'sharing contracts' just we just thought of this.

Not allowed at all unfortunately, there may be people in the q to get a higher contract etc and you would effectively be jumping that q, yes there are job shares but that is a different matter all together

How would it jumping a q if we are directly swapping contracts? Just that it would be me working more instead of her. We Arnt getting any additional hours?

If there was someone in either office who was on say a 20 hour contract and they've been in longer than you, they would be entitled, if they wanted to, to get first choice of the 27 hour contract. It's not as simple as a straight swap.

Don't suppose there would be any harm in asking but I bet the DOMs would say No just in case it causes them any grief. DOM could ask everyone in WTL if there's any objections? Nowadays though I wouldn't expect any decision making or problem solving from ANY Manager. They really are little men!
