What's a good one and what's a bad one? What makes the difference in practical terms?

You might have a 200 drop rural with long drives and heavy bags that is seen as bad, and yet in the same office a P&L pair with 1400 delivery points, but they are council back to backs so the mail is light and the duty is seen as easy.

A good walk is where the maid is at home every day to take in the packets. And you take over a grand in xmas tips.

For me, an open plan estate with no gates and away from noisy main roads. Obviously terraced houses where possible with customers who hardly get packets. And a shop with toilet facilities with a comfy bench outside over looking a nudist colony. Any offices with walks like this, PM me and I will put in for a transfer

Except for putting together door to doors for 1400 houses...plus the weight of them

I'd say a good delivery is on the flat without hills or steps - though I guess it's unlikely to get a whole round like that

400 to 500 calls, flat ground, doesn't get many packets, doesn't have many redirections, and doesn't get too many door-to-door contracts. There's a few in our office that fit this profile, though post-revision, the ones you expect to be on the easier side aren't necessarily the ones that are (easier). I've done some good ones, I've done some bad ones. I expect that going forward the bad ones will become the norm, the good ones will become a memory.

No scummers/doleites/alchies/sh!tpit gardens.
Open access to doors few gates.
Pleasant people preferably old who get less packets.
Somewhere to take a slash.
Less than 10 minutes from office.
Private housing nice scenery and gardens.
As a reserve never had even one Xmas gratuity so no opinion there.
Low yapping mongrel ratio.
Finish by 13:30 W/T/F like the round I'm on this week, 12 on Sat.

Yeah I wish. Scottish highland rural duty holder here. 270 calls. 70 miles. 5hrs 30 mins if im lucky. 6hrs if its most calls. Only thing that saves me is talk sport and after 3 years on this duty only caught once pissing in the bushes!!
