So what now for Billy Hayes?

So, now that Dave Ward has been elected as General Secretary of The CWU, what now for the outgoing GS, Billy Hayes. Will he carry on working for the CWU for a few years, and if so what will he do, or will he retire?

Excuse my ignorance here, however I would like to know who was entitled to vote in this election, as a fully paid up member ,I don"t recall receiving any voting papers. Or have I missed something here, apart from the election of course!

We all received voting papers both for opting out of the political levy and election of various regional CWU reps to the board/committee IIRC.
Plus of course the Hayes/Ward battle. You may have chucked it straight in the bin with the Courier?

I voted Ward as Hayes looked too chubby and content, not stressed enough for my liking.

I didn't get one, they still have their £3.56 each week, is it personal? What if Dave needed my vote? What about Magna Carta, did she die in vain? Not that he obviously gives a s**t about me, or my vote, but he might need me one day. although having heard him speak once, I wasn't that impressed, so maybe it's just as well.

Wabithunta do you get other CWU literature through the post, the Voice etc? If not they might not have your correct address and you need to tell your CWU Branch Secretary or Organiser.
