You will hardly notice any reduction in light levels even with 90% of sun obscured,light levels only drop noticeably just before totality.

Not just at 'your' office! (unless your DIM has supernatural powers.)

It won't affect Scotland and the north anyway, as the sun is usually only visible there between midday and 14:00 on 1st. August each year.

The most spectacular eclipse of the Sun for 15 years will plunge Britain into twilight for two hours this month.

In a rare astronomical alignment the Moon will pass directly between the Sun and the Earth, blocking out most of the light from around 8.40am on March 20.

Northern Scotland will have the best view of the partial eclipse, where more than 98 per cent of the Sun will be covered. For London and the South East it will be around 85 per cent.

Not at all abysmal in Devon. Really dark, birds stopped singing.

At our office the DOM says that during the eclipse the first one to prove Einstein's general theory of relativity gets to skip absorption.
