Who would want this?

For those that say its more at risk of fraud, Ive worked for big companies who use them and they can be maunally overrided by management if the need to do so is there.

As we are paid to time it would be interesting to see how many of the runners and early starters would be clocking off at 1:20 as they do now.

No doubt there would be a secret way for managers to set the clock back 10 mins before you get back to the office, skanking everybody out of ten minutes pay...

its a big yes from me , then you will get paid for the hours you work , then see how many would be willing to come in early and run round etc , to s**t on the people who do the properly as r/m and cwu want you to.

Say your starting time is 0630 you swipe in at 0629 no problem you swipe in at 0630 no problem then you swipe in at 0631 and suddenly you are late ie just the same as phoning in sick. So this has serious implications re the attendance procedure and you don't need to be brain of Britain to work out that this is a real easy way for the company to get rid of people. We are a private company now!!

my last job you clocked in and out , if your start time was 6.00 and clocked in at 6.01 you got docked 15 mins pay . so you didn't start while 6.15 simple.

Yes and that's great that you just got docked 15mins but in a place I worked the late swipe meant a sick occasion!

Used to clock in in a previous job, you were allowed 3 minutes beyond your start time before they took a quarter of an hour
off you, at the opposite end of shift you had to clock out 8 mlnutes after your official stop time to gain a quarter of an hours
overtime, this was paid at time and a half .Happy days indeed compared to all the squabling there is in RM over the hours

this wont stop people coming in early, they'll just clock in or swipe in once there official start time begins. the only way youll ever stop people coming in early is by locking them out till there start time. this is a non starter and RM know it.

It's the proper way to do things, anything happens when you are on the premises but not clocked in is a serious matter in most companies, why as a supposedly reasonably intelligent workforce are we still using pen and paper complete with an imagination/'flexible' timekeeping?
