Weekly pay is old fashioned , when will we get monthly salary?

The majority of the workforce, myself included, are against being paid monthly.
RM would prefer to move us away from weekly,

Change for change sake. If it works why try and fix it? Changing from weekly to monthly causes cash flow problems for many leading to taking out pay day loans from high St loan sharks.

While we are paid weekly if our OT is incorrect it takes a couple of weeks to get the correct amount paid (sometimes more, as is happening to me currently). If we got switched to monthly pay the OT underpayments would drag on for months, and with some people doing 30, 40 hours a month OT management can easily keep shafting them of a few hours hoping they won't notice....

(On a side note it would break the maximum legal time to be paid for work done (a month or so?) and therefore RM would break employment laws by dragging week A's OT over 3 or 4 months)

I've done jobs in the past where I was paid monthly. I'll take weekly pay over monthly any time.

It's hard enough trying to keep on top of any overtime your DOM has forgotten to put through on a weekly basis so not a hope anyone would wish to be paid monthly by RM.

Probably a cost saving to the employer with monthly pay. I wouldn't be at all surprised if monthly pay is buried in a future agreement.

Never! Hopefully. I don't know one person that would want monthy pay over weekly. Monthy pay gets too many people into debts they can't afford.

It's hard enough working out if the DOM's ripped us off on OT on a weekly basis, monthly would be one big cluster&£@/

Its easier for an employer to have monthly pay, almost 4 times less admin.....

the is no benefit for employees to be on monthly, weekly is so much better

Why don't you just check your bank account once a month,it will seem like you are on monthly pay

Maybe in the old days but most of payroll is automated now, It would save on payslips but that's about it.
